This service is intended for general IBD advice and is not a replacement for your day-to-day care from your local hospital.
This is a non‑emergency, out‑of‑hours advice and triage service for adults aged 18 years and over. It does not replace:
-Local urgent care centres
-NHS 111 (or equivalent in your area)
-Accident & Emergency (A&E)
If you feel very unwell, your symptoms are severe, or you are worried about immediate risk to yourself or someone else, please seek urgent medical help straight away.
Safeguarding
We are committed to protecting adults who may be at risk of harm.
If information you share suggests a risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or serious harm, we have a professional and legal duty to act. This may involve:
1- Sharing relevant information with appropriate services (e.g., NHS services, safeguarding teams, or emergency services)
2- Escalating concerns in line with UK safeguarding pathways and professional standards
Where possible, we will discuss this with you first. If there is serious or immediate risk, we may need to act without prior discussion.
Limitations of This Service
-Advice is based on the information you provide by text. As we cannot examine you in person or access your full medical records, guidance may be limited.
-You are responsible for seeking urgent or face‑to‑face care if advised to do so, or if your symptoms worsen.
-By using this service, you acknowledge and accept these limitations and safeguarding responsibilities.
We are committed to reinvesting a portion of our proceeds each year into charities and organisations dedicated to supporting people living with IBD. IBD support that gives back.
